The Confession are a five piece melodic heavy metal band out of Orange County, California who released their self titled debut EP in 2005. The band is heavily influenced by Iron Maiden, with similar guitar tones and long winded instrumental breaks. The band utilized black metal-esque screams sparingly across the EP but dropped these on their full length album in favor of melodic singing and increasingly rare post-hardcore friendly screams.

The band released their self titled debut EP in 2005. Their full length debut "Requiem", which was produced by Avenged Sevenfold's M. Shadows, was released in July of 2007.
